Facilities

The Facilities Department's daily mission is to provide a safe, clean, productive and well-maintained physical environment for MassArt’s community by planning and delivering professional services that are responsive and supportive of our academic excellence, now and into the future.

Any requests that would be considered a project must be vetted through the MassArt project committee or by contacting Jim Kane.

Carpentry

Includes service requests for any associated carpentry issues on campus.

Service and issue requests for any associated Housekeeping/Custodial issues on campus.

Electrical

Includes services involving installation or repair of electrical outlets, lights and equipment.

Environmental Health and Safety

Use this category for fire alarms, pest control, hazardous waster, elevator issues and no emergent alarms.

General Maintenance

Requests for replacement of window blinds/shades as well as furniture moves.

Requests or notification to Facilities of a need on our grounds, walkways, etc.

Heating & Cooling

Service requests for any associated with Heating and Cooling issues on campus.

Services for lost keys, re-keying locks, new keys.

Includes services involving regular maintenance or repair of toilets, sinks, drains and water fountains and water filling stations.

Event Support

To request a set-up/breakdown of an event, as well as Maintainer or Trades coverage for an event.
Facilities requires maintainers to be scheduled an additonal hour AFTER the event ends to ensure proper trash removal and clean up.

Facilities Project Requests

Any request that requires additional funding, outside contractors, planning or long term scheduling are considered a project and must be vetted through the MassArt Project Committee.
