How to Prepare Files for Print

Vinyl Decals — File Preparation
To ensure accurate printing and sizing, vinyl decal files must be prepared at final output size.
How to Prepare Your File:
- Set your document canvas to the exact final print size.
- Example: A 24 × 36 inch decal must have a canvas size of 24 × 36 inches.
- Set the document resolution to 300 DPI.
- Ensure all artwork fits within the canvas and does not extend beyond the intended print area.
- Save and submit your file in an approved format (PDF, Adobe Illustrator, or Photoshop).
Kiss Cut Stickers — File Preparation
Kiss cut stickers require specific formatting to ensure proper cutting.
How to Prepare Your File:
- Create your design using Adobe Illustrator.
- Use one sticker design per artboard.
- Multiple designs must be placed on separate artboards.
- Add a stroke line to indicate where the kiss cut should occur.
- The stroke should clearly outline the desired cut path.
- Ensure the artwork and cut line are properly aligned.
- Save and submit the final Illustrator file.
Mounted Jobs — File Preparation
Mounted jobs must meet size and submission requirements before mounting can occur.
How to Prepare Your File:
- The poster must be printed by the student prior to submission.
- The maximum allowable size is 24 × 36 inches.
- Ensure the printed poster is clean, flat, and free of damage before submitting for mounting.

Vinyl Decals
Pricing for vinyl decals is based on the total printed area.
How Pricing Is Calculated:
- Total square inches × $0.02 per square inch
Example:
- 24 × 36 inches = 864 square inches
- 864 × $0.02 = $17.28
Kiss Cut Stickers
Kiss cut sticker pricing includes both printing and cutting costs.
How Pricing Is Calculated:
- Total square inches of the print (before cutting) × $0.02 per square inch
- Plus a $5.00 cutting fee
Example:
- 54 × 12 inches = 648 square inches
- 648 × $0.02 = $12.96
- $12.96 + $5.00 = $17.96
Mounted Jobs
Mounted jobs are priced per mounting board used.
