OneLogin- What is OneLogin?

OneLogin Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA), is an extra layer of security for your online accounts. It adds an additional step to the login process, making it much harder for hackers to gain access to your information even if they steal your password.

At MassArt, we are using OneLogin as our MFA provider. OneLogin is connected to our Single Sign on (SSO) which is connected to Google. Therefore, you will be required to use MFA/OneLogin when logging into any application that use SSO: Google Mail, chat, calendar, (the whole Google Workspace), Zoom etc.

Once enrolled in MFA, you will be required to authenticate with the OneLogin app every 7 days on each device and any browser you use these applications on. This new step may initially feel inconvenient but will quickly become a habit.

Currently there are 5 options for authentication

  • OneLogin Protect Authenticator app (preferred)
  • 3rd party Authenticator app (Like Google)
  • SMS (text messaging)
  • YubiKey (USB Hardware)- requires approval
  • Personal email.  **this should only be used as a secondary means of authentication. This must be an account OTHER than your massart.edu account.

Note
You should have a primary and a back up authentication option so please choose 2 options.
