Wired Network (LAN)

Service Description:

Across campus, there are wired network jacks installed to facilitate network connectivity using an RJ-45 terminated ethernet cable.  Wired network connections are subject to authentication and work in conjunction with the same captive portal that allows for authentication to the MassArt wireless network.

Who can use it?

The wired network is not limited in who can use it.  As long as the network jack is active, anyone can plug their device into it and gain network connectivity.  How the user authenticates however, will determine the level of access that is granted to the user.

Additional Information:

Troubleshooting the wired network can often times be a very simple process. If you've found that your wired network connection is not working select Wired Network Issue and create a technology ticket.
