Sophos

What is Sophos?

Sophos Endpoint Security is a collection of applications, services and tools, which is use to protect MassArt systems and data from cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, specifically malware, which includes ransomware, viruses, keyloggers, Trojan horses, etc., and for data encryption, which protects against unauthorized access to institutional data stored on computing assets (endpoints, devices, servers, hard drives) provisioned by the institution.

Who can use Sophos?

Sophos Enduser Protection is installed on all MassArt-owned workstations, including all administrative, faculty, and lab computers.  It is updated automatically to protect against newly-developed threats.

Can I use Sophos on my personal device?

The license for Sophos Endpoint Security only applies to devices owned by MassArt, so it is not available for use on personal devices.  If your personal computer did not come with virus protection, MassArt recommends users to download and install malware protection software, some of which may be available, free of charge, from vendors
