Documents to Carry

The following REQUIREMENTS are for F-1 international students regarding documents you should carry with you at all times.
  • Nonimmigrants in valid status are required to carry "evidence of [immigration] registration" (Form I-94) at all times. You should carry this evidence even when you are on campus. You can get your most recent I-94 here. (Click on "Get Most Recent I-94" and then print a hard copy). The document you print must show your most recent entry into the U.S.

  • You are also required to report a change of address within 10 days.

In all cases, we advise you to regularly review and ensure you are up-to-date with the information on Maintaining F-1 Status

The following are RECOMMENDATIONS for F-1 international students.

  • Image/copy of your valid passport

  • Image/copy of your most recent I-20 (signed)

  • Image/copy of your *Employment Authorization Document (EAD) Card *students on Optional Practical Training only

We do not recommend carrying originals with you as you attend classes at MassArt day-to-day. In all cases, we advise you to regularly review and ensure you are up-to-date with the information on Maintaining F-1 Status
