How To: Connecting to eduroam WiFi network

Describes the process of connecting to the eduroam WiFi network

In order to connect to eduroam please follow the instructions below. 

If you've previously attempted to connect to eduroam or MassArt it is recommended that you remove or "forget" those networks within the network preferences/settings on your device before proceeding.

 

On your device, navigate to your settings where all available WiFi networks can be found

  1. Select eduroam from the list of networks.
  2. You should now be prompted by your device to log in. 
  3. For MassArt students, faculty and staff, use the following credentials:
    1. Username: Enter your full email address (example - john.doe@massart.edu
      1. WARNING: if you only enter the NetID, and do not include the full email address, the connection will fail.
    2. Password:  Your NetID password, which is the same one used for MassArt email access.
  4. For users from other campuses who wish to connect, use the same credentials and password you use for email at your originating institution.
    1. Example 1: MCPHS residents in the Treehouse
      1. Enter your full MCPHS email address (e.g., jdoe2@stu.mcphs.edu) and MCPHS email password.
  5. If prompted, accept the certificate security certificate.  Depending on the device type you may need to repeat this step.

 

Connecting With Android Devices

Android devices may or may not prompt for additional settings rather than prompting for acceptance of the certificate described in step 4 above.  If this is the case, use the settings below in order to complete the connection process.

  • EAP Method: PEAP
  • Phase-2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • CA Certificate: Use System Certificates
  • Domain: massart.edu
  • Identity: Your full email address (example - john.doe@massart.edu)
  • Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank, Not Needed
  • Password: Your NetID password, same used for email.
  • Proxy Settings: None
  • IP Settings: DHCP
