Question
What is a NetID and who gets one?
Answer
Your MassArt NetID is a unique username with a corresponding password that grants access to a variety of MassArt technology resources including Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), the MassArt Wi-Fi network, computer labs and campus printing resources, the College's learning management system (LMS), and more. The NetID is created via an automatic process and is usually set to be First Initial, Middle Initial, Last Name (e.g. jmsmith), but there are some exceptions to that rule. In most cases, MassArt email addresses take the format "NetID@massart.edu", although in many cases "firstname.lastname@massart.edu" can also be used.
All Undergraduate, Graduate, and Professional and Continuing Education students receive NetIDs, as well as all faculty and staff. Highschool students enrolled in Youth Programs do not receive NetIDs. For more detail, please see NetID Account Eligibility Policy
