Users should review this Google article on how to avoid and report phishing emails which provides information on how to spot phishing emails. The instructions below are reproduced from that article for your quick reference.
If you receive an email that you suspect may be a phishing attempt or cybersecurity threat, do not interact with, reply to or forward the message to anyone. Do not click on any links contained in the email, or take any action that it suggests (e.g., calling a phone number), as it may pose a cybersecurity risk for the institution. Reporting phishing emails directly in the Google Gmail web interface is the most effective and timely method to preventing phishing emails. Marking the message in this manner notifies Google and Technology staff of the suspicious message.
